The Program for development of the Southeast planning region for the period 2021 – 2026 was adopted

On April 15, 2021, the twenty-seventh (XXVII) regular session of the Council for Development of the Southeast Planning Region was held, at which the Head of the Center for Development of SEPR, Ms. Julieta Gjurkova presented to the audience the Program for Development of the Southeast Planning Region for period from 2021-2026.

The elaboration of the new Program for development of the Southeast Planning Region 2021-2026 is based on the selfless involvement of all stakeholders from the public, private and civil sector, and especially from the employees of the Local Economic Development Departments in the municipalities of the Southeast Planning Region, in order to create on a quality medium-term strategic document and basis for future cooperation and joint implementation of the Program.

Following the prior consent of the Council for Balanced Regional Development of the Republic of Northern Macedonia, the Program for Development of the Southeast Planning Region for the period 2021 – 2026 was unanimously adopted by the Council for Development of the Southeast Planning Region.

The preparation and content of the Program is fully prepared in accordance with the framework and content of the Rulebook on the methodology for preparation of planning documents for regional development, adopted by the Ministry of Local Self-Government and is harmonized with the Regional Development Strategy of the Republic of Northern Macedonia 2021 – 2031 .
The process of preparation of the Program for Development of the Southeast Planning Region is supported by the Ministry of Local Self-Government through the project “Sustainable and inclusive balanced regional development”, which is implemented with the support of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation in Northern Macedonia.

Twenty-sixth (XXVI) session of the Council for Development of the Southeast Planning Region was held

On March 31, 2021 (Wednesday), the twenty-sixth (XXVI) Session of the Council for Development of the Southeast Planning Region was held. Due to the pandemic, the session was held online through the electronic application Zoom.

Due to the legal changes, the adoption of the new Law on Balanced Regional Development in the first part of the session online joined Mr. Goran Milevski, Minister of Local Self-Government and Mr. Ramiz Redzepi, Director of the Bureau for Regional Development. In their presentations, they introduced the members of the Council with the novelties and amendments to the Law on Balanced Regional Development as well as the Program for Balanced Regional Development for 2021.

At this session were adopted the Final Accounts for 2020 of the Center for Development of the South-East Planning Region, the Annual Report on the work of the Center for Development of the South-East Planning Region for 2020 and the Annual Report for implementation of the Program for Development of the South-East Planning Region for 2020 year.

The twenty-eighth session (XXVIII) of the Council for Development of the Southeast Planning Region was held

On June 23, 2021 (Wednesday), the twenty-eighth (XXVIII) Session of the Council for Development of the Southeast Planning Region was held.
At the session, a decision was made to relinquish the bridge under the project “Construction of a bridge on the river Turija on a local road in the village Prosenikovo – v. Saraj ”funded by PRRR for 2020, which project was completed in March 2021, and the municipality of Strumica participated by co-financing it.
Decision was also adopted on the adoption of the Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan for the South-East Planning Region, implemented within the Project “Common Strategies for Biodiversity Protection and Sustainable Development of the Bilateral Network of Protected Areas – COMBINE2PERET” The Cross-Border Cooperation Program between Greece and the Republic of Northern Macedonia, implemented by the Center together with Aristotle University in Thessaloniki – Special Unit for Research Funds – Department of Biology, Greece, State Environmental Inspectorate, RS Macedonia, Region of Western Macedonia, Greece.
The adoption of this Decision was the reason for launching an initiative for protection of Mount Belasica together with the Monospit marsh.
The Council for Development of the Southeast Planning Region, due to amendments to the Law on Balanced Regional Development, had a legal obligation to amend the Rules of Procedure of the Council, and therefore adopted the Decision on Adoption of Rules of Procedure of the Council for Development of the Southeast planning region.
