“Arranging a part of the area around Gabrovo Waterfalls – Municipality of Strumica, Smrdliva voda – Municipality of Gevgelija, Smolare and Koleshino Waterfalls – Municipality of Novo Selo to enrich the tourist offer in the South-East region

The South-East region has an abundance of original natural beauty representing basic potential for tourism development. In order to enrich the tourist offer in the South-East region this project envisages arrangement a part of the area around Gabrovo Waterfalls – Municipality of Strumica, Smrdliva Voda – Municipality of Gevgelija and Smolare and Koleshino Waterfalls- Municipality of Novo Selo.
For Gabrovo Waterfalls it is planned to improve conditions of access to springs and stay at the waterfall. Expansion of green areas is also planned with landscaping and at the same time providing easy access to the location of the waterfalls of motor vehicles and buses and parking space.

At the tourist site “Smrdliva voda”, Gevgelija a construction of two trails is envisaged, also a small amphitheater for smaller cultural and entertainment events with a capacity of 60 to 70 visitors and four gazebos are planned. The urban arrangement itself in this area and enriched content should be aimed at attracting visitors who come here for fun and recreation especially in the hot summer days.

With the project the lightning at Smolare and Koleshino Waterfalls is planned to be set, arranging the paths and hedges, renovation of wooden platforms is also planned and installation of urban equipment.

Objectives of the project

Arranging a part of the area of the following tourist places:

• Gabrovo waterfalls – Municipality of Strumica;
• Smrdliva voda – Municipality of Gevgelija;
• Koleshino and Smolare waterfalls – Municipality of Novo Selo.
