Cross-border partnership for environmental protection and better quality of life (Waste EDU)

Short description of the project

The project aims to improve waste management and pollution prevention in the cross-border area, improving knowledge about the negative impact of improper waste management, consequences for the environment and life. The ambitious work program of the project represents an integrated approach in the field of education, as well as community management actions for the elimination of illegal landfills and pollution prevention. This approach will be implemented through the development of various tools (Joint Training Program WasteEDU, EduBook “Life Cycle of Waste”, mapping software and web portal), which can be used in the process of primary education of children and promoted within the framework of: various capacity building, training (Joint Green Schools and Camps) and networking events (Discussion Forum and Conference) that will be implemented during the project.
The target groups that will be involved in the project are: students, schools, non-governmental organizations, associations and other organizations that support environmental initiatives and youth initiatives, small and medium-sized enterprises working in the field of waste management, regional and local authorities.

Results

As a result of the project, target groups will be provided with various tools for raising awareness and encouraging direct involvement and participation of young people in environmental protection campaigns. In addition, project partners will strive to increase the participation of young people in solving problems related to waste reduction, recycling and prevention, as well as their knowledge of the benefits of reducing, recycling and proper waste management, through various promotional and awareness-raising activities.
