Short description of the project

The aim of the project is to increase the tourism potential in the cross-border region through the rehabilitation of community centers and the preservation of local cultural traditions. Specific objectives of the project are: rehabilitation of the community center in the village of Sekirnik, Bosilovo; Rehabilitation of the community center (reading room) in the village of Ribnovo, Grmen and creation of better tourist services.

Results

The main results are: rehabilitated municipal building in the community center in the village of Sekirnik and renovation of the community center (reading room) in the village of Ribnovo. Improved condition of public buildings and improvement of their energy efficiency, fully equipped community center in Ribnovo, provided with appropriate equipment for creating an exhibition of local cultural tradition in the cross-border region – custom “Ribnovo Wedding”, developed new tourist services and preparedness for exhibition and visit, implemented folklore festival in the cross-border area for presenting traditions and culture, developed new tourist products and increased opportunities for attracting tourists; Partnerships in the field of tourism.

The renovated public infrastructure could become a place for future tourist and cross-border cooperation and provide significant opportunities for the implementation of more programs, festivals, events, seminars on historical and cultural heritage, sustainable development, environmental protection, regional identity, etc.
