Changing climate conditions have a direct impact on the condition of water sources over a long period of the time. The development of economic activities, infrastructure and habits of the population in this micro-region face many problems regarding the regular water-supply for drinking and irrigation. They depend on the season and daily water consumption.
This project will provide a solution for water-supply for drinking water, irrigation and provision of technical water for the economy and industry.
Objectives of this project:
- Directing the water of Smiljanska River and construction of a pipeline over a length of 28.95 km to the reservoir dam
- Mantovo to increase the quantity of water for 7-8 million cubic meters
- Irrigation depending on the needs of crops planted in an area of 5200 ha of the municipality of Radovish, Konche and Vasilevo
- Providing quality water-supply of drinking water to residents of the municipality and surrounding municipality Radovis
- Provision of water for technical needs of the economy in the municipality Radovish
- Opportunities for using the capacities of the reservoir dam Mantovo to produce electricity
- Enabling conditions for tourism development at the artificial lake Mantovo and the micro-region
- Enhancing biological balance between flora and fauna
- Improving the living conditions of the population
