Short description of the project

The project focuses on the development of youth entrepreneurship to encourage the production of start-up enterprises, which will help improve the competitiveness of the regional economy. The implementation of the project activities will motivate young people to start their own business ventures.

The main activities of the project include: research and analysis of the existing environment in the cross-border region in terms of the development of youth entrepreneurship; youth business idea competition in Bulgaria and Macedonia; youth clubs for business start-ups and counseling (establishment and operation in 12 months); youth entrepreneurship capacity building program (Start-up Academy phase 1); Development, updating and maintenance of the web portal and social media “Start-up Academy BG-MK”; Business guide “Start@up Smart” for young business enthusiasts; production and promotion of motivational short videos to support youth entrepreneurship; Forum “Development and support of young entrepreneurs in the cross-border area – challenges and opportunities” in Bulgaria. Improving cross-border partnerships between young people with an entrepreneurial spirit through networking cross-border events, trainings, internet and social media tools.

Results

  1. Research and analysis of the existing environment completed
    A detailed analysis of the state of youth entrepreneurship in the cross-border region was conducted, identifying challenges and opportunities for supporting startups.
  2. Youth business idea competition organized
    A competition for young business enthusiasts in Macedonia and Bulgaria was successfully organized, with more than 50 participants, of which 10 best ideas received support for further development.
  3. Youth startup clubs formed
    Youth entrepreneurship clubs were established, which operated for 12 months, offering counseling, support and networking to young people.
  4. Start-up Academy implemented (phase 1)
    Over 100 young people were trained through an entrepreneurship capacity building program, which included training on establishing and managing startups.
  5. Web portal “Start-up Academy BG-MK” created and maintained
    A web portal was developed and social media was activated to promote entrepreneurship, with regular updates of content and tools to support young entrepreneurs.
  6. Business guide “Start@up Smart” created
    A practical guide for young business enthusiasts was published, containing useful tips for starting and managing startups.
  7. Motivational short videos produced and promoted
    5 motivational videos with success stories and advice from young entrepreneurs were created, which were promoted on social media.
  8. Forum for young entrepreneurs organized
    A forum entitled “Development and support of young entrepreneurs in the cross-border area – challenges and opportunities” was held in Bulgaria, with the participation of over 100 entrepreneurs, experts and institutions.
  9. Improved cross-border partnerships
    Networking events were organized, where young entrepreneurs from both countries had the opportunity to exchange experiences, establish contacts and initiate joint projects.
  10. Strengthened motivation for entrepreneurship among young people
    Through trainings, competitions and motivational activities, young people received concrete support for starting their own businesses, which led to increased entrepreneurial activity in the region.
