The development of tourism is an important priority for development of the South-East planning region because it offers numerous opportunities for development of businesses and new vacancies, but also because it supports the goal of the regional development in the field of export and direct investments. The economic benefit is enormous for people who work in this sector and for each municipality.
The specific goal is to establish basic conditions for regional access to development of tourism in the South-East planning region until the end of 2010, which will contribute for improvement of peoples’ living standard, increased number of tourists and increased income from tourism.
This project will develop a Study for Tourism Development in the entire region in which all touristic potentials will be identified and it will focus on the principle of sustainable development which foresees exploitation of the potentials without a negative impact on the environment. In the frame of the project, promotional materials will be prepared, touristic signalization as well as regional body for tourism management will be established.
The project will provide guidelines for the sustainable development of tourism, and will also be a base for many following developmental projects, while the established regional body will coordinate all the activities within this project.
