Short description of the project

The main strategic objective of the project is to establish a permanent, joint mechanism within the framework of sustainable management and development based on ecological and socio-economic axes in the border region.
The main target groups of the project are the project partners, the residents of the common border zone and the wider region, farmers and entrepreneurs (existing and potential), every citizen and future generations.

Results

The main expected results of the project are:

  1. Creating appropriate conditions and a structured and sustainable framework for the protection and sustainable management of the ecosystem of the transboundary area
  2. Improving the skills and capacities of the authorities and stakeholders of both countries in order to work together and implement concrete strategies and policies for sustainable development through the elaboration of our joint lake management system
  3. Creating and fostering an environment of opportunities for the citizens of both countries through concrete strategies and policies for sustainable development
  4. Improving the awareness and knowledge of the target groups on environmental issues and conscientious practices
  5. Improving the quality of the ecosystem and the living conditions of the endangered species of flora and fauna of the ecosystem
  6. Fulfilling the basic obligations of both countries as a result of the existing European and international legislation and agreements governing the region.
