Short description of the project

The Smart Electricity for Buildings – Centre of Professional Excellence project aims to develop Centres for Professional Development in the field of Smart Electricity for Buildings, which will support regional specializations and create knowledge hubs for excellence in vocational education.

The main objectives are the development of flexible VET systems, updated curricula, innovative pedagogical methods and a transparent certification mechanism. The project will integrate digital and entrepreneurial skills to upgrade electricians and improve their competitiveness in the labor market.

Results

  • Establishment of Centres of Vocational Excellence:
    – Centres of Vocational Excellence have been developed to support the smart specialization of the region.
    – International knowledge centres for vocational training (VET) systems have been provided, which serve as reference points for the advancement of professional skills.
  • Strengthening capacities for innovation and energy efficiency:
    – Energy efficient and sustainable building solutions, aligned with the priorities of the European Union, have been promoted.
    – The development of smart technologies and solutions for electricity management in the construction sector has been encouraged.
  • Transnational cooperation:
    – The project brings together organisations from seven EU countries: Greece, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Germany, the Netherlands and North Macedonia.
    – A dynamic cooperation network has been created to promote vocational excellence at European and global level.
  • Workforce development:
    – Training courses for the upskilling and retraining of professionals in the construction sector have been organised.
    – Workforce mobility initiatives are supported, facilitating the exchange of knowledge and skills.
  • Local and national development:
    – Three national partners are involved: Emkice KIC, the Center for Development of the Southeast Planning Region and SSKM Union of Chambers of Commerce of Macedonia, which have a key role in the implementation of the project.
    – A platform for innovation, development of new technologies and professional education is provided.
