Fourth ground spraying against adult mosquitoes in the South-East planning region

We inform all citizens of the 10 municipalities in the South-East planning region that a fourth ground treatment against adult mosquitoes will be performed, with the following schedule:

1. On 30.09.2020 (Wednesday), in the period from 16 to 18 hours in the Municipalities of Konche, Radovish, Vasilevo, Strumica;

2. On 01.10.2020 (Thursday), in the period from 16 to 18 hours in the Municipalities of Novo Selo, Bosilovo, Valandovo и Bogdanci.

For performing the fourth ground treatment against adult mosquitoes, the citizens of the Мunicipalities of Dojran and Gevgelija will be additionally informed.

The owners of bee families are informed to take appropriate protection measures, i.e to close them within the announced time period.

The forum cycle of 2019 ended with the presentation of the results of the project “Agrometeorological stations for protection of agricultural crops and the environment”

The Centre for development of the South-East planning region on 23.09.2020 in Hotel Sirius in Strumica, following the protocols and recommendations of the Government for protection against Covid-19, organized the Fourth and last forum session of the Regional Community Forums cycle from 2019 within of the project “Sustainable and inclusive balanced regional development”.

On the fourth forum session the results of the project “Agrometeorological stations for protection of crops and the environment” were presented. This project was voted first on the list of priority projects in a participatory and transparent manner by the citizens of the South-East planning region at the Regional Forum Sessions 2019 which were organized under the Grant Scheme for investment projects 2019 funded by the Ministry of Local Self-Government and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation.

The participants of this session had the opportunity to be informed about the course and process of realization of the selected project, the results achieved with the project and the recommendations sent by the forum for improving life in the wider community and the region.

The project “Agrometeorological stations for protection of agricultural crops and the environment” has been named one of the most innovative projects resulting from Regional Forum Sessions in 2019, and the success of this project is also evidenced by the fact that in 2020 two more Regional Centers will implement the same project in two other planning regions in the Republic of North Macedonia.

Regarding the other project proposals that emerged from the Regional Forums from 2019, Ms. Zhulieta Gjurkova, Manager of the CDSEPR, emphasized that they are of great importance for the Centre because they come from the citizens of the region and in the future efforts will be made for them to be funded.

All the necessary information that is measured and processed through the stations can be obtained at the website www.agrojug.mk as well as on the mobile application “Meteobot” where all 23 Agrometeorological stations in the region are mapped.

Practical trainings for the grantees within the project “Restration of Strumica River Basin”

During the past period, within the project “Restration of Strumica River Basin”, field trainings are conducted with the participation of 50 grantees from the third cycle of trainings for implementation of modern agri-environmental measures, where the amount of one grant is 5,000 euros.

On these trainings, experts in the field of fruit growing, gardening, soils, irrigation and protection give expert advice to agricultural producers in order to improve the quality of agricultural products and yield while reducing costs for their production and of course environmental protection.

The project is implemented by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in partnership with the Centre for development of the South-East planning region, Municipalities from the Basin and other relevant institutions, and is funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation.

Third ground spraying against adult mosquitoes in the Municipalities Strumica, Vasilevo and Radovish

We inform the citizens from the municipalities Strumica, Vasilevo and Radovish that the third ground treatment against adult mosquitoes will be performed on August 31st and September 1st 2020, with the following schedule:

1. On 31.08.2020 (Monday), in the period from 20.00 to 02.00 hours in the Municipalities of Strumica and Vasilevo;

2. On 01.09.2020 (Tuesday), in the period from 20.00 to 02.00 hours in the Municipality of Radovish.

The owners of bee families are informed to take appropriate protection measures, i.e to close them within the announced time period.

POSTPONED third spraying against adult mosquitoes in Municipalities Strumica, Radovish and Vasilevo

We inform the citizens from Municipalities Strumica, Radovish and Vasilevo that the third spraying against adult mosquitoes is which was scheduled for August 19th, 2020 (Wednesday) is POSTPONED.

The spraying is postponed due to unfavorable weather conditions, i.e occurrence of precipitation in the planned period, and for the implementation of the planned third spraying against adult mosquitoes, the citizens of the Municipalities Strumica, Radovish and Vasilevo will be additionally informed.

The grantees from the third cycle received part of the equipment within the project “Restoration of Strumica river basin”

Within the project “Restoration of Strumica river basin”, gardeners and fruit growers, winners of equipment for the introduction of modern agri-environmental measures from the third cycle of trainings, today (August 11, 2020) had the opportunity to receive part of the equipment which contained electric scissors, rotary tillers, inter row rotary tillers, mounted atomizers and more.

The total amount of one grant is 5.000 euros, and in this cycle, by participating in specialized trainings and by testing, 50 grantees were selected, out of which 20 fruit growers and 30 gardeners.

The project is implemented by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in partnership with the Centre for Development of the South-East Planning Region, municipalities from the Basin and other relevant institutions, and is funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation.

Second ground spraying against adult mosquitoes in the South-East planning region

We inform all citizens of the 10 municipalities in the South-East planning region that the second ground treatment against adult mosquitoes will be performed on July 22nd, 23rd and 27th, 2020, with the following schedule:

1. On 22.07.2020 (Wednesday), in the period from 19.00 to 02.00 hours in the Municipalities of Konche, Radovish, Strumica and Vasilevo;

2. On 23.07.2020 (Thursday), in the period from 19.00 to 02.00 hours in the Municipalities of Novo Selo, Bosilovo, Valandovo, Bogdanci and Dojran;

3. On 27.07.2020 (Monday), in the period from 20.00 to 02.00 hours in the Municipality of Gevgelija.

First spraying against adult mosquitoes in the South-East planning region

The Centre for development of the South-East planning region in cooperation with the ten Municipalities in the region, according with the Decision of the Council for development of the South-East planning region, organizes the first ground spraying against adult mosquitoes.

According to the procurement a total of two treatments for larvicide and three treatments against adult mosquitoes on the territory of the South-East region are envisaged, with a total area of ​​5.376 ha.

We inform all citizens of the 10 municipalities in the South-East planning region that the first ground treatment against adult mosquitoes will be performed on June 24th and 25th, 2020, with the following schedule:

1. On 24.06.2020 (Wednesday), in the period from 18.00 to 02.00 hours in the Municipalities of Konche, Radovish, Novo Selo, Vasilevo, Bosilovo and Strumica and

2. On 25.06.2020 (Thursday), in the period from 19.00 to 02.00 hours in the Municipalities of Gevgelija, Bogdanci, Dojran and Valandovo.

Signed agreement for improving the existing road infrastructure in rural areas in the South-East planning region

On June 12, 2020, the Manager of the Centre for development of the South-East planning region, Ms. Zhulieta Gjurkova together with the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy Mr. Trajan Dimkovski signed an agreement for realization of the project “Improving the existing road infrastructure in rural areas in the South-East planning region for better access to agricultural Areas”, which will be implemented within the Programme for capital subsidies for the development of planning regions in the field of agriculture and rural development for 2020.

The project has a total value of 1.575.580 MKD, funds that will renew access roads to arable land in four Municipalities in the South-East planning region, in the Municipality of Bosilovo, Bogdanci, Gevgelija and Novo Selo and will provide access to a total of 278 hectares of fertile agricultural land.

In the coming period, the Centre for development of the South-East planning region will receive additional funds that will enable revitalization of access roads to agricultural areas and other settlements in order to meet the requirements of other Municipalities in the region, which are from great importance for agricultural producers in the South-East planning region.
